Executive Leadership with Deep Experience
Eden’s team is made up of world-class scientists, engineers, and industry experts who understand the problem and have the solution.
A large amount of Eden’s experience and expertise is derived from a Department of Energy-sponsored program in the 1990s that was performed at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM. The goal of the program was to have Sandia become a backup supplier of the critical diagnostic medical isotope molybdenum-99 (Mo-99), referred to as “Moly-99.” Sandia worked with Los Alamos National Laboratory and experts from the now-defunct company, Cintichem, to develop the Cintichem process and apply it to the nuclear facilities at Sandia.
Sandia made great strides in this work and in modifying the Annular Core Research Reactor and collocated Hot Cell Facility until the program was defunded in 1999 At the time, the Mo-99 produced from this facility was successfully validated by both Mallinckrodt and BMS in production of generators. The reason the program ceased was because the Canadian government had plans to build two new “Maple X” reactors that would supply the world with Moly-99. Unfortunately, those plans never materialized.
The US and the world now find themselves in the same situation as in the 1990s: the need for a critical medical isotope with a currently unstable and unreliable world supply.
The founders of Eden and their scientists and engineers were intimately involved in the DOE medical isotope program at Sandia in the 1990s.
They know everything there is to know about making Moly-99 and other critical medical isotopes. They have the right technology and intellectual property to succeed. The Eden team knows how to construct, license, and operate a facility that will be safe and reliable, allowing the US to no longer be dependent on foreign sources for our critical healthcare needs. We have the right people, the right technology, and the right vision for success. Our team is committed to success in delivering a reliable source of medical isotopes for our country.
